American Service Company
is all about family – yours and ours

Started in 1991 as American Service Corporation, our company has been family owned and operated since Day One. It was acquired in November 2018 by Robert “Robbie” McAteer, who had worked at the company for 19 years to become a master plumber, master HVAC technician, and master gas fitter. Robbie’s mother, Mary Jane McAteer, is a co-owner in the company, and together they model our company’s mission and values. At the heart of our business ethics, we value fairness, honesty and treating people with a consistent and equal standard of quality performance.

Where we stand. Our Values and Beliefs.

At American Service Company RVA, we believe that how well a company cares for its people is the extent to which the employees will care for the customers. Solid character and a positive attitude are crucial for a company’s integrity as a whole, which automatically leads to building loyalty and trust in customers.

One way we practice these core beliefs is by compensating our staff with salaries. Though our technicians may receive a commission from product sales, each is paid primarily through a regular salary. Because of this, our crew of technicians is a contented, stable workforce, bringing you over 50 years of master HVAC experience, over 50 years of gasfitting experience, and over 20 years of master plumbing experience. For you, this means extremely knowledgeable and professional HVAC repair and service and plumbing repair and service, as well as greater consistency, and personalized support from technicians and office staff who get to know you and your family as we service, repair and install your HVAC systems year after year. We treat our staff as family, and in turn, our staff treat you as family.

Don’t let fair and honest pricing go extinct!

And because you’re family, we’re upfront and fair with all our pricing. We don’t believe in big markups, flashy gimmicks, and hidden added charges. We’ll never charge extra for a manufacturer’s warranty – all warranties are included in our pricing. And we offer a range of discounts – for seniors, active duty military personnel, and first responders. Our mascot, Atlas, reflects our values of honesty and integrity – we’ll never let fair and honest pricing go extinct!

Welcome to our family! Whether you’re a homeowner, a real estate agent or realty company, or a landlord or property manager, we’re glad you’re here. We look forward to being your partner in making your home safer, more efficient, and cozy all year long with superior HVAC and plumbing products, installation, services and repair.

What our customers are saying about American Service Company

American Service Company Gives Back

Being family owned and family focused means we care about our larger family – our community, our environment, and our world. ASCRVA is proud to support Tech for Troops. Tech For Troops is a non-profit dedicated to empowering veterans with computers, skills, and Information Technology (IT) workforce training.

https://techfortroops.org/

Tech For Troops (T4T) provides veterans and active duty military personnel transitioning to civilian work who are either in need, unemployed, underemployed or homeless and their families with gifted refurbished computers. In less than 5 years, T4T has gifted over 1,500 computers to in need veterans. Perhaps more importantly, T4T educates veterans on how to put their new computer to work. T4T is the Fastest Growing Veterans Organization Bridging the Digital Divide for Veterans and their Families in the USA. In 2019 alone, we gifted 391 refurbished laptops to homeless and disabled Veterans across the United States.

T4T also saves the environment from toxins that are being put into landfills as old laptops, cell phones, desktop computers, servers, routers, switches and wiring are discarded. T4T has a large facility that recycles laptops and other equipment. Over 450 TONS have been recycled in 5 years.
